Originally from the Paris suburbs, Socrate is a graffiti artist. After several years of covering walls with paint from spray cans, she has moved on from urban sup- port to canvas.

In her work, she presents a highly contrasting universe: the wild, colourful nature of graffiti is contrasted with the black-and-white two-tone of her photographs. In the same way, the energy and movement that characterise urban art and its coloured backgrounds animate her frozen, temporal images.
