The story of the Wileys begins simply: a child passionate about drawing who constantly redraws his favorite comic books, such as Asterix, Tintin, Lucky Luke, and Gaston Lagaffe. As a teenager, his artistic horizons broadened with manga series like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, and Olive and Tom.
One day, discovering a magazine dedicated to graffiti was a true revelation. From then on, he immersed himself in the art of lettering and sought his own style. His pseudonym was inspired by a T-shirt bearing the word “Wild.” Feeling that this term didn’t quite match his personality, he replaced the “d” with an “e”: Wile was born.
For several years, he painted in vacant lots or in his makeshift studio, all while pursuing studies in graphic arts. Little by little, he developed his style, created his first characters, and began painting on canvas. His work caught the attention of a gallery, which offered him his first exhibition.
After a few years, a moment of doubt led him to take a step back. It was then that he realized the key to his artistic universe lay in his characters: smiling, energetic figures.
Thus was born the world of the Wileys, a colorful, joyful, and slightly crazy universe populated by characters who radiate optimism and good cheer. Through his paintings and social media, the artist now shares this positive vision of the world, inviting everyone to look at life with more lightheartedness and joy.
